Does the application hurt?
The therapist takes every precaution necessary to ensure the procedure is as pain free as possible. A mild topical numbing cream is used prior to and during the procedure to keep you as comfortable as possible. Some clients find the procedure a little uncomfortable, whilst others report no discomfort at all.
Is there any downtime and what can I expect after the Microblading procedure?
There is no downtime, however immediately after your Microblading procedure and in the first few days, your brows will appear significantly darker and defined than perhaps your desired look. It may continue to get darker over the next few days as scabs begin to form, however this is not an accurate indication of the finished and healed result. 30-50% of your brow colour will fade as the scabs fall off within 7-10 days. In some cases, the scabs may take longer to heal and fall off. DO NOT PICK YOUR SCABS. The pigment is within the scab and you do not want to pull any pigment out of your skin prematurely. The complete healing process takes approximately 28 days.
How do you choose the Microblading pigment?
A colour is chosen together with your therapist by applying small amounts of different pigments to the skin near your brows and selecting the best match for your skin tone, features and personal preference.
Is a touch up necessary?
Yes! A touch up after 4-6 weeks is imperative as everyone heals differently and outcome will vary. Certain areas may not pick up during the first session and will need to be refilled. Pigment colour may need to be adjusted, brow thickness and more strokes can be added. Individuals with oily skin often require a deeper shade during the touch up session as the oils tend to lighten the pigment. Most importantly, your touch up session is when we refine your brows to ensure it looks perfect and retains the colour.
Are there any side effects during or after the Microblading procedure?
During the procedure there may be some minor bleeding. This depends on the client. If you take blood thinners on a daily basis, then some slight bleeding may occur. Bruising is rare but can occur. There is usually some tenderness for a few days.
Will my Microbladed brows look fake?
No. Semi-Permanent makeup is done using a cosmetic tattooing process and the eyebrow pigmentation artistry guarantees soft, natural looking eyebrows. When your therapist implants the pigment in the skin, it appears more natural looking than topically applied cosmetics.
How do I know if im not a suitable candidate for Microblading?
You are not a suitable candidate for this procedure if you are:
- History of keloids or hypertrophic scarring
- Diabetic (require doctors clearance)
- Viral infections and/or diseases
- Pacemaker or major heart problems

What are the pre and post care procedures?
In order to achieve the best results, it is best to strictly follow the pre and post care instructions.
Prior to your procedure, clients are advised of the following:
- 24 hours prior to your appointment, DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL
- 72 hours prior to your appointment, DO NOT TAKE BLOOD THINNERS unless medically necessary
- Botox should be done 2 weeks prior or 2 weeks after the procedure
- No waxing, tanning, or tinting 3 days before
After your procedure, clients must follow these instructions:
Vitamin A&D Ointment routine:
Immediately after the procedure, apply a thin layer of Vitamin A&D ointment.
With a damp cotton round (using cooled, boiled water), gently wipe/dab the eyebrow area every hour for the first day only.
Day 2 – 11:
Apply a very thin layer of Vitamin A&D ointment every morning and evening. During this stage, it is normal for the brows to peel, flake, fade, scab and itch.
Do NOT pick or remove any of the scabs that are forming, this should shed naturally.
The final results of the eyebrows will ONLY be visible after 28 days.
A follow up (touch-up) procedure is vital to achieve the desired results and is part of the Microblading procedure. This appointment can be scheduled for 4-6 weeks after the initial appointment.
Use a fresh pillowcase
Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of color
No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks
Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for one week
Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors.
Avoid heavy sweating and long hot showers for the first 10 days.
Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days
Avoid swimming for the first 10 days
Avoid topical makeup including sunscreen on the area
DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area.
Important note about showering:
Limit your showers to 5 minutes so you do not create too much steam. Keep your face/procedure out of the water while you wash your body, then, at the end of your shower, wash your hair. Your face should only be getting wet at the very last end of the shower. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area.
Remember, with the proper prep and aftercare routine you will have much better results with your microblading procedure.
